Well, who knew the Japanese were so competitive? We too used to do something like that back in high school, and in retrospect, that's just another reason why high school simply sucked. All that idolization of high school in Japanese manga and anime is utterly puzzling to me -- surely Japanese high school is as shitty as everywhere else in the world? Really, is there anyone who thinks that high school was the best time in their life?
